The Indianapolis Colts are one of the NFL’s most storied franchises, with roots tracing back to 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. Originally established as the Baltimore Colts, the team quickly became a powerhouse in professional football, winning NFL championships in the 1950s and 1960s, including the famous 1958 NFL Championship Game often called “The Greatest Game Ever Played.” In 1984, the franchise relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, where it has remained ever since.

Today, the Colts play their home games at Lucas Oil Stadium as a member of the AFC South division. The team’s colors—royal blue and white—have become iconic, and the horseshoe logo is one of the NFL’s most recognizable symbols. Colts fans, loyal and passionate, have supported the team through eras of transition, triumph, and rebuilding.

The Colts have been home to some of the game’s greatest legends. Quarterback Johnny Unitas defined the team’s early years in Baltimore, while Peyton Manning led the Colts into modern glory in Indianapolis, becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. In 2006, under head coach Tony Dungy, the Colts captured victory in Super Bowl XLI against the Chicago Bears, cementing their place as one of the league’s premier franchises.

The team continues to build on its legacy with standout players and a tradition of resilience. With a rich history that spans both Baltimore and Indianapolis, the Colts remain a cornerstone of NFL history.
